Biography:
I have lived in Cornwall for 30 years. I gained my BA /HONS in Fine Art at Falmouth 15 years ago . The Cornish Coast line and gardens are an endless source of inspiration. I like to paint at source, perched on the side of a cliff or on a beach , but some paintings mainly the more abstract are studio paintings . These are often the results of an amalgamation of ideas I've collected in the landscape . I surround myself with ideas really trying to absorb the subject, before I can begin a painting . The ideas are either drawings , small studies , past paintings and photographs . I paint spontaneously and energetically , consciously curbing pre- conceived ideas and allowing intuitive and gestural marks to tell the story.
